State License Eligibility and Required Documentation for the Pathway
Eligibility for the Pathway
A candidate may use this pathway if the candidate holds a current midwifery license, registration, certification, or other form of legal recognition that NARM accepts for this eligibility route.
The candidate’s credential and issuing jurisdiction must have been evaluated and accepted by NARM. NARM may consider the education, supervised clinical experience, assessment, scope, and other requirements associated with the credential when determining whether it qualifies for this pathway.
Candidates holding credentials or legal recognition that NARM has not accepted for this pathway may be required to qualify through another eligibility pathway.
Required Credential Documentation
Candidates must submit acceptable documentation of their current legal credential in the form required by NARM.
- The documentation must clearly identify:
- the candidate;
- the credential or legal recognition held;
- the issuing jurisdiction or authority;
- the current status of the credential; and
- the credential’s issue and expiration dates, when applicable.
NARM may verify the credential directly with the issuing authority and may require additional documentation when the credential cannot be independently verified.
A credential that is expired, inactive, suspended, revoked, restricted, or otherwise not in good standing may not qualify under this pathway unless permitted by NARM policy.
