State License Community-Birth Clinical Experience Requirements

Candidates must submit the out-of-hospital birth documentation required by NARM for this pathway.

The documentation must demonstrate that the candidate has completed the clinical experience required for CPM certification, including any requirements related to:

• attendance of ten births in homes or community setting , not including transports;
• functioning in the role of Primary Midwife or Primary Under Supervision;
• continuity of care;
• recency of clinical experience;
• supervision and verification; and
• practice setting.

Candidates must use the current NARM forms and instructions. NARM may request additional records or clarification to determine whether the submitted experience satisfies pathway requirements. All documented births must have occurred in the United States or Canada.
