What is NARM's Portfolio Evaluation Process (PEP)?
The NARM Portfolio Evaluation Process (PEP) is a competency-based educational evaluation pathway through which candidates document completion of the education, supervised clinical experience, knowledge, and skills required for CPM certification.
PEP is intended for candidates who are primarily apprentice-trained and whose midwifery preparation is not being verified through another recognized eligibility pathway.
PEP candidates must complete the required phases of education and supervised clinical experience, document competency in the required midwifery skills, and submit verification from qualified NARM Registered Preceptors. All education, clinical experience, supervision, and documentation must meet the requirements in effect when the applicable materials are submitted.
Completion of PEP establishes eligibility to proceed through the CPM certification process but does not, by itself, result in certification. Candidates must also meet the General Requirements for All Candidates, pass the NARM Exam, and complete any remaining certification requirements.
